A relaxed approach for your in home new born session. Welcoming a new little one in to your family is such a special and monumental occasion. It is the start of a new story in your families lives that deserves to be beautifully documented. But let’s be honest the first few weeks, even months of welcoming a new born are filled with a lot of sleepless nights and extra cups of coffee. Which is why I like to take a relaxed approach in the comfort of your own home when capturing these special moments welcoming your little one into the world.

In home new borns are a beautiful way of documenting your new family life in a way that is unique to you and your loved ones. It allows your little one to stay cozy in a place they’ve grown to become familiar with over the past few days. And also allows you as parents to not be rushing trying to get everyone ready and out the door.

Documenting your new borns in your home also gives for some flexibility to capture moments in different rooms and scenery throughout your home. Some favorites are typically the nursery, mom and dads room, and a room with the largest window. If your little one is born in warmer months some outside moments are a really beautiful option as well!

Is there a special place at your home?

If there is a space at your home that has some extra special sentimental value also makes for a great place to capture some sweet moments with your new little one. For Harpers new born session this space was a charming little swing in their garden. Caroline’s mom shared with me that Caroline loved to swing as a kid. So capturing some moments with her and Harper on the swing outside their home was a sweet way to add something a little extra to their images that will hopefully connect some childhood memories for Caroline with new memories of her and her precious baby girl.
