As a people centered photographer I pride myself on truly getting to know my couples; what makes your story unique and how you envision your special day, and I keep all that at the core of my work. I want you to know you are in capable hands as we begin this partnership to create adventurous, exquisite images together.
Every wedding has a style, whether it's understated, or very apparent, your wedding style is seen and felt in all your images, so a great place to start with your wedding planning is to know exactly what that style is, and then you make sure every detail and plan you bring in plays to that style.
When we create our photography plan for your big day I will want to know what your overall wedding style is, but also, what your photography style is. Do you want more traditional poses? More fine art style images? Or do you like more candid/photojournalistic images? Or even a mix of them all? We will go over all of this to make sure you get the images you want from your wedding day. So give some time to thinking about these different photography styles as well, when you are planning your wedding style, and let me know if you have any questions.
// Traditional style is going to be more portraits of the bride and groom looking at the camera smiling, probably standing side by side, they are usually a little less intimate.
// Fine art style is really about angles and posing and small details, like the touch of a hand brushing a cheek.
// Candid photos are full of emotion. They are more about the couples interacting together and the photographer capturing those interactions and emotions. Usually there is lots of laughing, sweet kisses, maybe even some happy tears.
There are a lot of pros to having a first look - it gives me a chance to capture that special moment just between you and your (very) soon to be spouse without all the distractions from the wedding. It also allows for more portraits of you together, truly showing your love for one another.
The pro to seeing the bride for the first time when she is actually walking down the aisle, is just that. It creates a special moment visible to everyone.
Neither choice is wrong or right, think about what is more important to you, what you would cherish more, and if you have any other questions about the first look, I'll be happy to answer them!
